A Detroit, Michigan, home girl who makes her home in New York City, Black and delicious Aliya Campbell started the new century by making a sudden and enduring impact in two markedly different types of movies. Long and lean, with the finely boned, angular face of a Nubian princess and a pair of chocolate-kiss tipped treats fit for a king, she shares her gorgeousness in both a comedy and a drama, one right after the other, both her big-screen movie debuts. As Wendy in the farcical comedy Road Trip (2000), she hangs out in a women’s locker room in just a towel, while Amy Smart chats away with another girl; it’s a tongue-in-cheek gratuitous girls-naked scene, with close-ups of a variety of breasts, Aliya’s included. Switching moods, the hot actress is the only nude female in the grim drama Requiem for a Dream (2000), playing Alice opposite Marlon Wayan’s Tyrone C. Love. She’s fully naked in this one, as is Marlon, and the two are spoon-sexing in a long, involved, and stylized sex sequence. Not a bad start, if Mr. Skin does say so himself! Aliya rounded out her film career with four more flicks: a receptionist in Queenie in Love (2001) with Louise Lassner (Mary Hartman!); Kim in the action drama Bomb the System (2002); Mary in Undermind (2003) with Ellen Pompeo; and Vonda in the musical comedy Death of a Dynasty (2003), with Rashida Jones and a butt-load of cameos, including Chloë Sevigny, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Lorraine Bracco, Duncan Sheik, Devon Aoki, Kevin Hart, Mark Ronson, Flavor Flav, Peter Sarsgaard, Jam Master Jay, Carson Daly, Doctor Dré, Jay-Z, Master P, and more. At least she was in good company for her final film role!
